I was born in the Netherlands in 1978. Most of my adult life has been spent in academia (physics and astronomy) with over 30 papers published in scientific journals. Thanks to this career, I have spent much of my life abroad, working in the United States, Europe and Asia, as well as attending conferences and workshops in many different countries.

I have always been an enthusiastic reader of both historical fiction and non-fiction, and my travels allowed me to visit historical sites in many countries. More recently, after dabbling in fanfiction for several years, I decided to try to write a fictional story of my own, which has resulted in my first manuscript.
